| Customer Reviews: A Marvellous Era, A Marvellous Book January 30, 2010 Rockwell (Melbourne, Australia) The photographs in this lavish book, 'Beatles to Bowie', are a defining window into an era when pop star images relied on the print medium - before the processing of our imagination by MTV and the internet. It's a stunning - and sometimes revealing - collection of star pix, mostly British, and second only to The Beat Age, a hard-to-find German publication that surpasses this collection but doesn't shadow it.
In summary, 'Beatles to Bowie' is undoubtedly worth the price of entry; I doubt there's been a better printed and produced compendium capturing the time, the place, and the optimism of the era before hippies and delusion set-in.

This follows on from the exhibition attended and the photographs are stunning and reflect a time when England and Music changed from being controlled to leading the world. The photos reflect the sociological changes and in my view are indispensible to understanding those years.

Barrett and Bolan! The Kinks in plaid flares! Cuban heels, kitten heels!Ciggies galore! Rockin'rockers, moddy mods. Peace and love! Great book about a great exhibition November 7, 2009 R. Rademaker (UK and Netherlands) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I wanted to see the "Beatles to Bowie" exhibition in London when I saw that the book with the same title would be available at the museum. I checked Amazon and found out that they had the same book and even cheaper! It arrived on the day before I went to London so I had plenty of time to "prepare" myself for a lovely trip back to the 60-ties. It's a fantastic book with plenty of photos to remind you the time when the best music ever was made (according to my humble opinion of course).
