Customer Reviews: Fridge Magnets with Beatles Album Covers February 7, 2009 P. A. L. Rush (STROUD) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Of course, we huge problem with CDs is that the artwork is tiny. This encourages people to accept downloads of nastily compressed music where all the care taken in expensive studios is erased for the sake of a few kb. (These are usually the same people who have bought a HD tv; the world is a strange place.)
I remember how, in the 1970s, albums came with a sticker which said 'home taping is killing music'. This was a lie. Home taping is dead, but you can still buy Beatles albums.
These fridge magnets are the downloader's dream. Tiny images of Beatles albums with all the subtlety and grandeur missing. They are impossible to read and contain no information. They are album art for the noughties.
And my favourite? The 'white album'. You stick your tiny magnet white square on the fridge and it disappears. Almost, but not entirely completely. Yoko will be proud of you, she and her Fluxus chums.
I gave mine away as a Xmas gift, but everyone who has seen the set wants their own. So don't be satisfied with just one set, get five.
