Customer Reviews: Small and handy August 23, 2010 Stephen McDonald (Scotland) This is a small and handy book to have if you're going on a short break to New York. It covers quite a bit for a small book and I always find the pull out maps in the Lonely Planet guides useful. If you're wanting a more in depth guide though, you'd probably be best going for something else.
Its OK June 7, 2010 J. Park (UK) But there is better out there. The maps are difficult to use and its not easy to see the subway stops at all. It would have been better as a full guide with the accommodation section pulled out. We have been to NY many times and like to get abook every now and again to use for the maps and see whats new. This book is a disappointment.
Handy book to have January 11, 2010 hols i7584 (London, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Good if you're looking for a small and handy guide book to carry around with you in New York. It covers all the main attractions and areas in New York as well as descriptions of what each area is like. Best for short trips.
Great pocket book January 8, 2010 Peg (uk) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I hadn't been to New York for many years so thought I better buy an updated guide!
I found this book nicely laid out: colour sections to divide areas and just enough info for a few days stay without being overloaded with information.
I stayed in the Chelsea area (new to me) and found the food section for this area very helpful and had some great meals - Omai was lovely!
Would have liked a subway map, otherwise all in all a good little book for the price.
