This is an absoulte fantasic read!! I could not put this book down and laughed so much at some of tales Stuart Cable had to tell. I would seriously recommend this book to anyone. It covers all aspects of his life including the split from Stereophonics. This is the type of book that has you crying with laughter one minute and crying with the sadness the next when you realise this great character is no longer with us. RIP Stuart Cable, you'll be sorely missed.
Riveting read July 28, 2010 miss bossy I'm not a huge fan of either Stuart or the Phonics but I'm into biographies and I couldn't put this book down! By the end of the book I felt as if I knew Stuart, which makes his tragic & untimely death even harder to comtemplate. I think because I'm Welsh it was very easy to relate to many of his feelings about things, & knowing many of the places that he talks about makes it really come alive. I was at the Morfa gig (which was amazing!)and seeing some of the backstage pictures and knowing how he felt to be there was great. Buy it, read it, love it!!!
Any Stuart Cable fans must read this July 16, 2010 Hannah Like everyone else, I was so sad when I heard that Stuart Cable passed away. Always a fan of his, I decided it was time to read his book Demons and Cocktails. I literally couldn't put it down!!
What an amazing journey he had taken from start to finish. I recommed this book to anyone not just fans of his.
In reading the book, I could hear his husky voice as I flipped my way through the pages. A charismatic person with so much to offer.
The book is hilarious, sad and somewhat eyebrow raising! Read it, you'll remind yourself just how brilliant he was.

This is my first Review for Amazon, I usually don't have time to write reviews, but I really did feel compelled to write this review. I was lucky enough to meet Stuart on a few occasions and he really was an absolute Gentleman and probably one of the nicest and genuine people I have ever met.
After the news of his death I was deeply shocked, my wife bought me the book a few weeks later and I read it within 3 days. I just couldn't put it down. Not only is it one of the funniest things I have ever had the pleasure to read, but also the genuine heart that went into it and his complete honesty of his ups and downs since joining the band, he makes you feel that you are right there with him the whole time. I couldn't reccomend this book highly enough.
As it got towards the end of the book I found myself feeling saddened by the references to his own death that were so similar to the way he actually died it was scary, I almost felt like shouting out to just stop drinkning!! on more than one occasion in the book,he spoke of getting drunk at his home, and mates thought he was dead, it is just a really tragic tale.
If you are reading this review just stop and buy it, you will not be disappointed.
The main soul of the Stereophonics June 20, 2010 J. F. Morgan 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I recently bought this book after the tragic early death of Stuart, and this book shows his life and huge personality off to a tee. I had the pleasure to meet Stuart on many occassions, before he was famous, through to a few weeks before he died, I will always remember the humor of the man, from the stories of the dirty photos in Merthyr Vale through to eating the Stones shephard's pie, you can just imagine the innocent face of Stuart trying to explain his actions away. It is a good book, it shows the humour of the Welsh, and although some may say he indulged in too much excess, not many people in his position wouldn't have done the same. Surprises in the book, are how nice Bono, and Liam Gallagher are, always thought they were both prats tbh. I fully believe the Stereophonics have lost the soul of the band, and went downhill after sacking Stuart, and it's sad that we will never see how far Killing for Company would have gone.
RIP Stuart you died far too young, and much love to Cian xx
