| Customer Reviews: Fantastic Insights into using music in teaching June 9, 2010 Mr B (Wales, UK) I found this little book very engaging and interesting. There were many aspects of pedagogy which I had heard about but had not seen devloped and this book touches on lots of them. It offers insights and methods of developing lessons and engaging pupils in a non subject orientated fashion. Well written and easy to 'dip' into -a must read for new and old teachers alike.

Not being a music specialist I was struggling to engage pupils in music lessons. The solution was this book - it helped me get pupils used to music in the classroom and then created an interest in ALL lessons.
Brilliantly structured, easy to dip in too full of accessible practical ideas!
Thank you!!
If you buy one non-fiction book this year, it has to be this! February 5, 2010 J. H. Luff (Wales, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Little Book of Music for the Classroom has everything you could possibly need to introduce music as an aid to teaching within a school environment.
I am a student and so read the book at a different angle to how tutors/teachers would read it. Nevertheless, it has helped me in my studies to develop my creativity and motivate me in so many different ways.
Even those who do not are not tutors can benefit from this powerful teaching tool. Particularly helpful are the specific named extracts that can enable a class of children to be stimulated in order to complete a task, or calm down at the end of a busy day. The book encourages you to find what works for you - do not underestimate it's power, it is a little book but the ideas contained within it can make a BIG difference.
