 Paul Doing What He Does Best! May 20, 2010

Paul plays this set in whats sounds like a small location. He covers Beatle, Wings and solo numbers. He really sounds committed and enjoying himself while the audience are loving it. There is a geat version of C Moon but really the whole album is great. The great talent that Paul has is to interpret his classic numbers in a new vibrant way that still shows new generations what a great singer and song writer he is.

I'm not a big fan of live concert CDs - performances tend to be self-indulgent and flabby. Some of Paul McCartneys previous live issues have not been that great. But this is different - this is superb! The performances here have terrific gusto and verve and it feels like a very special occasion indeed - you just know that Paul McCartney was loving the intimacy of the occasion and his rapport with the limited audience. I think the sound is fantastic - not crystal clear but really full and punchy - you feel like you're there. "Only Mama Knows" didn't seem that good on "Memory almost full" but hear it emerges as a copper bottomed McCartney classic. So an easy five stars - but can we PLEASE have a CD of the full 20 song set? I've got the 11 song "Daily Mail" freebie which is amazing - so come on Paul lets have the full 20 song set - and soon!

If you're a Macca fan You'll like this, close to 70 years of age with the enthusiasm of a new kid on the block how does he do it ? Wish i had tickets for the 02 concert.

Reviewing a Paul McCartney product is difficult because I have purchased everything that Paul has ever issued and have enjoyed most of it. This is not his best release but the package contains some excellent songs well performed. Paul's voice is still good in his 60's but I felt that on some tracks the mix could have given more prominence to the vocals. Nevertheless Paul is still able to produce quality - the musicianship is impeccable.

A superb live CD EP from the master of stage performance. Some solo material with a splash of Wings and a dash of the Beatles!
This guy still knows how to hit all the right spots. Plus his performance is A1. Let's hope he eventually deems it appropriate to release a full CD of the 20 tracks he performed at this record store gig in Hollywood.
